Sunken Gardens Golf Course and Driving Range

Sunken Gardens Gol Course is an ideal location if you want to hit a few balls around in the Sunnyvale area, and there is a 9 hole course here that stretches across more than 1,500 yards of executive course. There are a range of practice areas here that make it perfect if you are a beginner golfer or you can go to the driving range which is open all year round and is a great place to practice your swing. This was a walk 9 hole, predominately par 3 course. It was around $26 for 9 holes with a rented pull cart. The play of pace is incredibly slow even on a week day. This is an excellent place to learn how to play, and it offers forgiving, short par 3’s. There are two par 4’s, one of which is pretty short and straight forward, while the second, longer par 4 is much more challenging.

At the Sunken Gardens Driving Range you will find 18 stalls where you can warm up before a game or just have fun hitting some balls around. For a short 9-hole course, Sunken Gardens is actually a lot of fun. While the vast majority of holes are going to be small par 3’s aimed at improving your approach game, Sunken Garden does feature a couple opportunities to get your driver out of the bag. The course is a beautiful 9-hole wrap-around style experience with interesting hazards and gorgeous looking wildlife. The 9-hole “Sunken Gardens” course at the Sunken Gardens Golf Course facility in Sunnyvale, California features 1,502 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 29. The course rating is 28.4 and it has a slope rating of 86 on Rye grass. Designed by Clark Glasson, the Sunken Gardens golf course opened in 1955. Rodney Wilson, PGA manages the course as the General Manager.

Sunken Gardens also has an open driving range with a fairly reliable ball dispenser machine, giving everybody an opportunity to warm up before their short round. Sunken Gardens Golf Course is a 9-hole, 1,502 yard executive course. Sunken Gardens is ideal for the beginner golfer with ample practice facilities and shorter length holes. The driving range is open 364 days a year (closed on Christmas Day). 18 range stalls are available to the public for practice, warm-up before play, or for exercise/therapy.
